Above the Line drives

performance, profit &

potential.

Your agency can't scale while you're still the load-bearing wall.

You have a senior team. They're capable, trusted, well-regarded.

But too many decisions still land with you. Client escalations. Delivery calls.

Conversations that should never reach your desk.

The bottleneck isn't the work. It's the leadership layer that needs to be

built.

The Leadership Line works with MDs and founders of established creative,

events, experiential and exhibitionagencies to build the leadership layer the

business actually needs so it can execute, grow and perform without the

MD having to be in the room.

COaching for leaders in creative agencies

The gap nobody talks about

You didn't get to where you are by accident. You built something. You know how to lead.

But at a certain point, the nature of the role changes. Maybe it's a formal transition such as a merger, an EOT, a new leadership appointment. Maybe the agency has simply grown and the leadership hasn't scaled with it. Maybe there's a pattern everyone can see and nobody is naming. Maybe you've been the load-bearing wall for so long it has stopped feeling unusual.

Whatever the shape of it the result is the same. Your senior people are brilliant at delivery. What they haven't had is a shared language, shared standards and a shared way of operating. So decisions come back up. Standards drift when you're not watching. The culture runs on your presence rather than on shared expectations.

You're not the problem. But you are currently the solution to every problem and that isn't sustainable.

The window to fix this is roughly the first twelve months after a transition. After that, the wrong habits become the culture and they are significantly harder and more expensive to shift.

The Leadership Line works with MDs and founders to build the leadership layer their agency actually needs. Not with theory. With the frameworks, language and capability that make a senior team genuinely self-directing.

When you are operating above the line,

you stop firefighting and start leading.

When you are operating above the line, you stop firefighting and start leading.

You're not second-guessing every decision.

You're not working evenings to keep up.

You're not the bottleneck your team needs for everything.

You're leading. And it shows.

Performance

A leadership team that executes on your strategy without you in the middle of it.

• Escalations stop reching your desk
Your senior team holds the standard when you're not in the room
You delegate and it stays delegated
You're leading the agency, not running it
Strategic work gets your attention, not delivery firefighting

Your people stop waiting for you to make it work.

Profit

A management structure that reduces the cost of getting leadership wrong.

• Talent stays because the leadership above them is worth staying for

• You stop losing people you can least afford to lose

• Client relationships are held without you on every call

• Decisions get made at the right level, first time

• You stop paying senior salaries for mid-level output

One senior hire getting it wrong costs an agency nearly £20K. Poor leadership costs multiples of that.

Potential

A business that scales beyond what you can carry personally.

• The leadership layer beneath you is genuinely self-directing

• Culture runs on shared expectations, not your presence

• You can step back without things slipping

• Growth stops being limited by what you can personally carry

• The agency grows whether you are in the room or not.

The ceiling lifts when you stop being it.

"The Above the Line framework gave me something I didn't expect, a reference point I actually use. I can feel when I'm dropping below the line now, and I catch myself before it affects the team. That awareness alone has changed how I lead."

Managing Director, Event Production Company

When the leadership layer works, everything beneath it moves differently.

  • Your senior team makes decisions without you in the room

  • Escalations stop reaching your desk

  • The agency holds its standards when you step back

  • Difficult conversations happen at the right level

  • You delegate and it stays delegated

  • Client relationships are held without you on every call

  • You lead the business instead of running it

  • The agency grows whether you are in the room or not

"I have grown to be a good leader, fair to the team and have created a safe space for my team.

They respect me and my time."

The Leadership Line

How It Works

The Leadership Line is a pressure model, not a personality test.

It shows you and the leaders beneath you exactly where you're operating at any given moment.

Above the line: Strategic, intentional, coaching your team. Making decisions and moving on. Holding standards without rescuing. Clear on what the role requires.

Below the line: Reactive, firefighting, doing instead of leading. Taking work back. Saying yes when you mean no. Becoming the solution to every problem.

No leader stays above the line all the time. That's not the goal, and it's not realistic in agency life.

The goal is awareness and recognition. The moment you feel yourself dropping, you catch it before it affects the team, the client, or the decision on your desk.

That's the capability The Leadership Line builds. In you, and in the leaders beneath you.

How We Work Together

Whether you need strategic support for yourself, a programme for

your senior team, or a structured development pathway for your

rising leaders, there's a pathway.

Leadership

Partnership

Strategic 1:1 coaching and mentoring for MDs and Founders

You're not looking for someone to tell you what leadership is. You need a thinking partner who understands the commercial reality of running a creative agency and will challenge you accordingly.

We work on what's happening in your business right now. The decisions, the team dynamics, the strategic calls you're carrying alone.

Team

Workshops

MEET SUZY

I didn't come to leadership coaching from the outside.

I co-founded and ran 4D Design for nearly 30 years, an exhibition and events agency delivering global brand projects under the kind of pressure that tests every leadership decision you make.

I know what it costs when a leadership transition isn't handled well. When a new MD or founder takes the helm of an established business and the team beneath them keeps running from the old playbook. When a merger creates a new leadership layer that has no shared language, no shared standard, no agreed way of deciding and holding the line.

After closing 4D in 2020 I retrained as a coach and realised that what I'd spent thirty years navigating was exactly what every MD and founder in this industry is still figuring out alone.

That's why I created The Leadership Line. Not as an outside consultant with a framework. As someone who lived it, built it, and knows what it actually takes.

Find out exactly where your agency is

leading from.

And what it's costing the business.

Most leaders have a version of themselves they lead from in theory. This shows you where you're actually leading from in practice, when it's pressured, when it matters, when the gap between intent and impact is widest.

15 statements. 5 pillars. 4 minutes.

This isn't a test. It's a mirror.
